Emerald Lake, British Columbia ©Ylenia Vimercati
In September 2009 a couple of friends and I met in Seattle to start our adventure in the beautiful lands of British Columbia and Alberta in Canada. The landscape is simply breathtaking with its uncontaminated nature, bright colors, and open spaces.
We explored national parks and provincial parks where we hiked surrounded by a stunning environment. The area is full of lakes all characterized by a vivid turquoise color due to powdered limestone. In Yoho National Park we joined a guided tour to hike up to the Walcott Quarry, the world renowned Burgess Shale Formation. Holding 500 million years old fossils, kayaking in emerald waters, crawling in ancient caves, and hiking in wild lands was an unforgettable experience. |
